This is an illusion resulting from the ways Earth and Mars orbit the sun, like two cars on a racetrack, with Earth in the inside lane moving much faster than Mars. In astrology, Mars is associated with action, energy, sex and temperaments. Though it is just a trick of perspective, astrologers believe that Mars retrograde can make people feel lethargic, passive and tense and they often recommend that you try to think before you act – easier said than done with Mars in retrograde!
